Instructions –
TD-RE building surveying team were appointed to undertake defects analysis of this terraced mansion in Kensington, London.
The freeholder had issues with water ingress into two flats that had been on going for over 10 years prior to TD-RE’s instructions. After undergoing a detailed inspection, TD-RE undertake a thermal imaging survey. The result confirmed chimney flue’s were running in the same location of the water ingress issue which may be linked to hydroscopic salts. After undertaking some chemical testing of the walls where the water ingress was located, the results confirmed the presence of hydroscopic salts.
